Our Story

Our boutique, family winery is located in the Russian River Appellation of Sonoma County.  With lots of care and passion, we produce award-winning wines from our estate vineyards.

Inspired by our Italian heritage, Due Ruscelli [ru-scèl-lee], means "two creeks."  Our estate vineyards are divided between two seasonal creeks.

The motivation for launching our winery in 2011 was inspired by our love for the Italian culture.  Sharing food and a nice bottle of wine brings people together.  Food and wine are more than sustenance, they are an excuse to come together and celebrate family and friends.  These cultural principals motivated Michael and Melissa to launch Due Ruscelli Vineyards & Winery.

Their endeavor has not only brought family together at the dinner table to break bread, it has inspired the help in the vineyards as well.  Close friends and family help prune the vines, pick the grapes, and make the wine.   Our annual harvest brings family together from all over the country to pick, sort, and share a meal together.  It is clear our family appreciates the journey of wine making as much as the final product.

The winery isn't all effort, we make quality wine!  Melissa always held onto her Italian heritage especially when it came to the culinary arts.  She refuses to cook with anything but the best ingredients.  The same is true with wine-making.  A keen attention to process, and the use of the best ingredients translate to great bottles of wine.

Their goal is quite simple.  Create a place that inspires the Italian tradition in us all.  Sure you might visit us looking for a good bottle of wine, but we hope our wine goes on to unite families over a nice Sunday dinner.  The only thing better than a great bottle of wine is enjoying it with those closest to you.  As we say in Italian, “Salute!”
